The whole Level I course, at a price that makes sense

CheapMocks Academy is a complete course for the CFA® Program Level I exam. You learn each topic in short lessons and videos, keep it with flashcards, practise it in the question bank, and prove it in full mock exams. We think good preparation should be clear, engaging and affordable, not a wall of text that costs as much as a holiday.

What you get

• Short lessons for every topic. The whole curriculum, every learning module, in lessons of 10–15 minutes: the idea, the formula, worked examples with BA II Plus keystrokes, exam traps and a quick self-check.
• Animated video lessons. About five minutes each, with the numbers and charts drawn out step by step.
• Spaced-repetition flashcards. Cards join your deck as you finish lessons and come back just before you would forget them.
• A question bank and full mocks. Practise by topic or learning module, then sit full 180-question mocks in two timed sessions, weighted like the real exam, with a score report by topic. Your first full mock is free.
• A study plan. Set your exam date and the plan tells you what to do each day, with a streak, XP and badges to keep you going.
• Both curricula. The 2026 and 2027 Level I curricula. Your exam date picks the right one; see what changed in 2027.

How the content is made

Every lesson, card and question is original and follows a written house style:

• Written to the learning outcomes. Each module covers its curriculum learning outcomes in our own words, with our own examples and numbers.
• Exam-style questions. Three options with one best answer, and distractors built from realistic mistakes such as a wrong formula or a missed step. As on the exam, you get the data, not the formula.
• Every answer explained. Each explanation shows why the correct answer is right and why each of the two other options is wrong.
• Calculations verified. Every number in a lesson, every answer and every numerical distractor is recomputed independently before it goes live.
• Reviewed before release. A question appears only after it has been reviewed and approved, and a mock goes live only when all 180 of its questions are approved.

How we keep it accurate

Every question has a Report an error button, and every report is read and resolved. We also watch how each question is answered: one that most strong candidates get wrong, or where a wrong option is unusually popular, is flagged and checked again.

Who runs CheapMocks

CheapMocks is run by Jed Sebios, who holds a master's degree in finance. CheapMocks is the prep provider Jed wanted while studying: most cost several hundred dollars, are too heavy to read through, and lean on long videos that are hard to stay focused on.

CheapMocks is an independent Norway-based service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to CFA Institute, and we do not use CFA Institute questions, curriculum text or past exams. Real exam questions are confidential; ours are written to match the exam's style, difficulty and topic weights.
